  10.    IMPORTANT: Make sure RoboDUN is NOT running when installing a new version!

  14.    Thank you for trying RoboDUN! Please read this file before installing or
  15. using RoboDUN. Refer to the online help file for more information on RoboDUN
  16. operation. Users of non-English Windows should refer to the "Troubleshooting"
  17. section for instructions on getting RoboDUN to work with a localized version
  18. and Compuserve PPP users should refer to the "RoboDUN Scripts" section for
  19. a sample login script using the new "7Bit" command.

  23.    To begin using RoboDUN, decompress the "RoboDUN package" and use the
  24. following installation directions. Two methods are available. Well, one really.
  25. The other is "copy everything!". Read both before deciding.

  29.                           StartUp Group Installation
  30.  
  31.       Open Control Panel and start the "Add / Remove Programs" item. From the
  32. "Add / Remove Programs" dialog box, select the "Windows Setup" tab and then
  33. select the "Have Disk" button. When prompted, enter the full filename for
  34. robodun.inf and select "OK". The rest of the installation should be automatic.
  35. The "daemon" utility is added to the StartUp folder, all programs are added to
  36. the "RoboDUN" folder. To uninstall the program, close RoboDUN and simply repeat
  37. this procedure but, in the "Add / Remove Programs", find the utility listing,
  38. uncheck it and select "OK". The program and all parts should then uninstall.

  42.                               Manual Installation

  44.       Copy everything included with this package to a common directory and add
  45. the programs to whatever shell you use like you would any other program. Add
  46. ROBODUN.EXE to the StartUp group if you would like it to start automatically.

  50.                IMPORTANT if updating from version 0.5x or earlier!

  52.    RoboDUN now keeps scripts in the registry for security and performance
  53. reasons. Text files are no longer used but converting them to use with this
  54. release is simple. Start Notepad and load a script file, copy all the text from
  55. the script file and open a RoboDUN script editor window. Paste the script into
  56. the window and select "Save" to save the script and the old script is now in
  57. the registry and ready for use. See online help for more information on the
  58. script editor and how scripts are managed. Because the scripts are registry
  59. based, be safe and keep your scripts someplace safe in a file, in case the
  60. registry becomes corrupt or deleted in the future.

  64.                                 Troubleshooting
  65.  
  66.    When contacting the author with questions concerning RoboDUN, please include
  67. the script in question and the text which appears in the post-dial window when
  68. you log into the network manually. These items are crucial in determining where
  69. a problem is happening and how to correct it.
